It's gonna truly be Christmas in July the year for me! I am so excited. Elizabeth and Donald had attempted to find me a specific lamp called an OttLite that I had wanted for Christmas this past December. They looked high and low to no avail. Finally, in frustration, they settled on a gift card so that I could just buy my own from a store that carries them, at a later date. I have checked about once a month for six months and they have always bee...Read Full Post »

I often do not understand why people wait to do certain things. This is your time, your life. It is not preseason life, this is the real McCoy and it will be all used up before you know it, if you are not careful. With most things, there is no better time than now to get started, at least that's my opinion. If you are dragging your feet than perhaps it is something you didn't really want to do in the first place.
Now...Read Full Post »

I have been running all over creation these past few weeks. I have rarely been home for more than a day or two at a time. This has somehow caused the house to become a disaster area. I think someone must be sneaking in and having parties when I am gone or something.
I am hereby soliciting volunteers to come and clean. Experts in laundry, cat hair, and leftovers are needed. Pay is low, but the company is ...Read Full Post »

The air is thick with humidity. Everything sticks to my skin. I know that many people enjoy the summertime, but I would trade days like this for a sunny, crisp day in October anytime. The weatherman kept saying that today might be a tornado day here in Indiana, but so far, it doesnt seem to be materializing that way. To me, this is a great thing. If I never experienced another tornado in my life, I would be fine with that.

I have been busy. I have had forty-three different projects tugging at me simultaneously. people have been pulling or nudging me to and fro. I have been trying to satisfy everyone but me. It's a temporary condition. It will be better in a few short months. However, there are personal casualties, trials, and difficulties in the meantime.
Currently, it's the yard. I mow 3/4 of an acre and it has some ...Read Full Post »

I just returned home from a trip. It was part work, part play. The problem is, I gained five pounds! I'm FAAAAATTT! I was skinny, skinny, skinny through the first 30+ years of my life. I could eat enything. Now, I am just a blob. I lose a bit, then gain a bit. But now it is time to get serious and get fit again. Actually, I do have a level of fitness about me. I can run a mile and I do play sports and ride bike. ...Read Full Post »

Gotta love this weather. Springtime warm-up is here! It's gonna be 72 on Monday. The only thing is, that one neighbor down the street will ruin the whole experience by going out and mowing his yard. I just know it! Why can't he just wait until Mid-May like any sane person? Perhaps I should just sneak down there this weekend and sabotage his mower. I would be doing it for the greater good of the men in the community who still possess their man card. ...Read Full Post »

I have a very hectic rest of my week ahead, so I decided to take a very rare day of rest and relaxation for myself. I don't do this very often, because I don't do it very well. it is difficult for me to just stop. The other thing, which I had forgotten, is that doing nothing makes you physically feel like crap! I feel like I have been beaten to a pulp! I have a low grade headache, my joints hurt, I have no giddyup. It's horrible! The...Read Full Post »

It is cold outside. It is the sort of day that is good for staying put. Matter of fact, I think I ought to make some of Dad's tater soup and cornbread. That will fill my belly and warm my soul. Making the soup brings back memories of days gone by and of the good and decent man I had for a father. He and I didn't always agree on everything, and he wasn't afraid to tell me so. But, he always was there for me. He was always a stable, sa...Read Full Post »

A story from a recent rideshare experience...
I found the next house. It was in a middle class neighborhood north of the city. The name of my rider , Anahid, was unique. I wasn’t sure whether to expect a man or woman to be honest. I could see through a blurred storm door window the silhouetted figures hugging and doing the two cheek kisses that you see in certain cultures. Shortly, a middle aged man opened the door and out popped...Read Full Post »
