I just returned home from a trip. It was part work, part play. The problem is, I gained five pounds! I'm FAAAAATTT! I was skinny, skinny, skinny through the first 30+ years of my life. I could eat enything. Now, I am just a blob. I lose a bit, then gain a bit. But now it is time to get serious and get fit again. Actually, I do have a level of fitness about me. I can run a mile and I do play sports and ride bike. I am active. I just like to eat too much. I know what it takes. It takes a mix of exercise and diet, not just one or the other. It takes discipline. But, then there is ice cream, and enchiladas, and corned beef hash, and lemon pie, and .... well, you get the point. There are many healthy foods that I also like. They are just not as easy. I love raw vegetables. But, they need to be cut and cleaned. So much easier to ram your hand into a bag of chips. I love fresh fruits. Yet, I will usually grab cookies instead to satisfy my sweet tooth. I did get very lean and fit a few years ago, but then I let it slip. I have given much lip service to this in recent times, but now is the time to actually act, to get busy, so away I go! Wish me luck!
